The Bluewater International Granfondo (B.I.G.), August 5, 2018, is a signature cycling event for all levels which starts and finishes along the shores of scenic Lake Huron at Mike Weir Park in Sarnia, Ontario. B.I.G. utilizes timed sections which is a format that prevents chaotic starts but still allows competitive juices to flow. About the Rollfast International Gran Fondo
Since the inception of the Rollfast Gran Fondo, September 16, 2018, it's been a fast ride. The course is flat and sheltered from most wind by tall Indiana corn.
So fast in fact, that there is a Sub4 and Sub5 club for riders who complete the 100 mile ride in under 4 and 5 hours.
To keep the pace high the Gran Fondo is paced the entire ride by the B.O.M.B Motorcycle club. A dozen sweet, custom and very loud Harley bikes lighting it up to ensure the lead two groups had the road, stopping traffic, for ALL 100 miles.
This is as close as it gets to experiencing a flat Grand Tour stage with full support.
Again, this is the competitive distance where you can compete for 1,000 points, giving North American cyclists the opportunity to step onto the Gran Fondo World Tour® podium.
