Joshua Berry Solo's Home to Victory in the Cervélo Belgian Waffle Ride presented by SPY

Joshua Berry (Jelly Belly Cycling) wins the 5th running of the Cervélo Belgian Waffle Ride presented by SPY, after a solo effort on the hardest course they've ever crafted.

Amanda "Panda" Nauman (SDG Factory Team) wins the women's race and is awarded 4 category jerserys Hardwoman, Queen of Sprints, Queen of the Mountains and Queen of the Dirt.

April 24th, San Diego, CA - Known to provide riders with an incredibly memorable day on the bike, the Cervélo Belgian Waffle Ride presented by SPY took over 1,000 riders on a ronde through North County San Diego, where they clattered through agrarian hamlets and the Ardenne-like hills, a never ending string of ups and downs—along single track climbs, sandy trails, and roughly paved roads carved through inland San Diego’s beautiful rural and sometimes forested backcountry.

The Cervélo Belgian Waffle Ride presented by SPY is widely recognised as America's Premier "Spring Classic".

A group of around 10 riders formed at the front after 136 miles. Reports are sketchy at the moment, but it's known that Joshua Berry (Jelly Belly Cycling) found his Inner Hardman and solo'ed home to victory, with the assistance of one of the many Mavic Moto's that supplied Joshua (along with hundreds of other riders) with food and water for his final effort to the finish line!

The full BWR course was 144 miles, with 11,000 ft. of vertical climbing including 18 dirt sections, many affectionately known as "Bergs". The event also had a Wafer ride of 66 miles, 14 dirt sections and 6,500 feet of climbing. The ride sold out in advance to over 1,000 riders.

Joshua crossed the line in a time of 7 hours 22 minutes and 30 seconds to earn himself a full Belgian feast (including Waffles and Custom Brewed bottle of Belgian Ale from The Lost Abbey), and joyous merriment from the huge crowd, ride staff and fellow riders! Scott Lundy was 2nd and Ryan Steers 3rd for the men.

For the ladies Amanda "Panda" Nauman (SDG Factory Team), a Cyclocross, Gravel and Mountain Bike racer, won 4 Jerseys, Hardwoman, Queen of Sprints, Queen of the Mountains and Queen of the Dirt after finishing the full BWR course in first place. Amanda has won many tough endurance events including Dirty Kanza 200
