The Tour of the Potteries sportive on Sunday 4th sponsored by international motorcycle/cycle lubricant manufacturer FUCHS Silkolene, will have one of the biggest names in British motorcycle racing taking part with Shane ‘Shakey’  Byrne riding. Shakey is a keen cyclist and is looking forward to the event to get some quality miles in and help raise money for the local charity the Donna Louise Trust who are receiving the proceeds from the event.

“Cycling is my main form of exercise and I love it” says Byrne. “I ride nearly every day and always take the bike with me to races so I can get some exercise and to switch off from the pressures of racing. I’ll do short rides on race weekends but when free I’ve done 200+ mile rides in a day. It’s great having an event to focus on and I’m looking forward to the Tour of the Potteries as there’s some tough climbs on good routes and also helps out the local Donna Louise Trust charity as all proceeds go directly to it.”
