Tour of Britain Stage 4: Groenewegen wins as Vermote keeps race lead

Groenewegen pipped Dan McLay Great Britain to the post ahead Ben Swift (Sky) who claimed third place.

Julien Vermote (Etixx-QuickStep) took fifth to retain the yellow jersey of race leader.

A flurry of attacks on the undulating terrain with 40 kilometres remaining, saw Movistar, Cannondale-Drapac and Sky try to dislodge the sprinters.

André Greipel managed to latch back on, and his presence in the reduced front peloton meant that Lotto Soudal were very active on the front in the closing kilometres, but they were outmanoeuvred by LottoNL-Jumbo in the finale.
