Fernando Gaviria wins final Paris Tours Sprint

Etixx-Quickstep rider Fernando Gaviria attacked out of a fast moving Peloton with 500 metres to go on the Avenue de Grammont

Mark Cavendish was perfectly placed to take a bunch sprunt, but Gaviria's unexpected jump from the pack and tremendous turn of speed shocked the Sprinters and lead out teams.

Gaviria held off the launching Sprinters who closed in on him - metres before the line.

An amazing win for Gaviria. Etixx-Quickstep are having good day having won the Team Time Trial in Doha this afternoon.

Cofidis were the ones working hard on the front for Nacer Bouhanni alongside Lotto-Soudal. IAM and Sky were also busy heading into the final seven kilometres as the peloton brought back the two escapees. Arnaud Demare (FDJ) did his best to catch Gaviria  but had to settle for second while Jonas Van Genechten secured a podium place for IAM in their final race.
