Giordana Gran Fondo National Championship Series® announces 2017 Calendar
Expanding series of events across the U.S., with thousands of cyclists riding the NEW recognized Gran Fondo format
November 3rd, Charlotte, NC – 2017 marks the 6th year of the highly successful and expanding series of events with demand increasing due to the popularity of GFNCS’s Gran Fondo format of timed sections, individual and team prizes for all abilities.
Every Giordana Gran Fondo National Championship Series (GFNCS) event offers courses covering approximately ~30 (Piccolo), ~60 (Medio) and ~100 miles (Gran) through some of the most beautiful, and challenging cycling terrain across the U.S.
The format provides both a competitive and recreational experience. Timed sections allow riders, solo or team, to compete for the fastest times through specific sections of the course, while also allowing cyclists to ride causally at a more relaxed pace through the non-timed sections. Riders compete for overall and category placement by gender and age which includes:
Custom Giordana “Race Winner” jerseys for all Gran Route age group winners
Cash Purse and Prizes for Gran Route winners
Awards and Prizes for Medio and Piccolo winners
Awards and Prizes for Team winners
A racing license is NOT required for the Gran Fondo format
