16,000 riders sign up for Tour of Flanders Amateur Ride

16,000 cyclists will ride the SOLD OUT ‘Ronde van Vlaanderen’ on Saturday 6 April, only one day before the professionals. 4,550 brave souls will ride the entire professional’s race route

We Ride Flanders 2019 Registrations Open

The limit of 16,000 registrations has yet again, been reached. The limit was introduced a couple of years ago to enhance the comfort of the participants and the local residents around the course. The last available spots are in the more exclusive Hors Catégorie formula – for cyclists who want a little extra.

This year again, the 139 km ride has 5,270 participants, the most popular distance. But also the longest distance (229km) is scoring high in numbers: no less than 4,550 brave souls will ride the entire professional’s route, starting in Antwerp. 4,030 participants will ride the 174 km and 2,150 riders chose for the shortest distance (74 km).

The finish line is the same for everyone and is located in Oudenaarde, the same as for the professionals one day later. The start and finish village will be at the Qubus (a little bit further).

Everyone enjoys Traffic signallers, road supplies, technical and medical assistance, a frame sticker and a massage, as well as a bicycle light, increasing the visibility and the safety of the riders. Besides that, there is a starter package for every rider.

The wonderful route and the unique atmosphere are the reasons why thousands of passionate cyclists choose the Ronde van Vlaanderen Cyclo – We Ride Flanders. Mythical ascents like the Oude Kwaremont, Paterberg, Koppenberg or the Muur van Geraardsbergen fire the imagination of every cycling fan. Every recreational rider can pick a challenge of their own size. The distances vary from 74 to 139, 174 or 229 kilometres. Start and finish lines of the first three distances are located in Oudenaarde. The longest track (229km) starts in Antwerp and goes all the way to Oudenaarde. Just like in the previous editions we provide a shuttle service from Oudenaarde to Antwerp for the participants who choose the 229km professional race route.

Riding the Ronde van Vlaanderen Cyclo – We Ride Flanders guarantees a 100% experience along the way. Giving everything you have got on the same track and only one day before the professionals race and being encouraged by the many supporters… as a recreational cyclist this will be the closest you will get to the feeling of being a pro.

1,100 women will participate on 6 April. This year there are remarkably more foreigners at the start. 57,72% of the participants hasn’t got the Belgian nationality, compared to 49,86% last year.
