Test your mettle at the Hillclimb World Championships presented by Mavic

Race up Gibraltar Road in Santa Barbara, California this October 19th and see how you stack up against the Pro's. The chance to win prizes and party hard afterwards at the Hillclimb Festival p/b Mavic!

On October 19, 2019 in Santa Barbara, California, riders of all levels will compete for global supremacy at the Hillclimb World Championships on Gibraltar Road, a climb made famous by the Amgen Tour of California. World & American Champions will be crowned for Pros & Amateur Age Groups.

Known as the American Riviera, Santa Barbara offers a gorgeous backdrop for a world-class event. It’s a great place for cycling, with temperatures staying between 50 and 80º year-round, but bring the family to enjoy the beautiful beaches, iconic architecture and award-winning wine country.

Gibraltar Road in Santa Barbara is famous for its amazing scenery, but more known to cyclists as a battleground for big names at the Amgen Tour of California. Gibraltar made a glorious backdrop for the first-ever Hillclimb World Championships in 2018, where riders of all abilities suffered for fun, prizes, and glory, to compare their times against the best in the world.

2018 saw some of the world biggest professionals including Amiee Vassee, Mara Abbott, Margot Clyne and Kristabel Doebel-Hickok go head-to-head in the women's race, while Peter Stetina, Phil Gaimon, Stefano Barberi and time travelling Jesse Anthony did the same in the men's race, up the infamous climb of Gibraltar Road.

But it wasn't just the top guys and girls who raced up Gibraltar, there was loads of categories which included Chefs, Womens Open pro, Tandems, Fixed Gear, juniors, Over 70's and Clydesdale categories. Everyone who raced up, got to watch the Pro's do battle and celebrate on the way down.

They'll be crowning World Champions and National Champions for first American every category, so riders of all levels can test or enjoy themselves on a climb made famous by the Amgen Tour of California.

Medals for the top three in each category/age group, and the winner receives a World Champion jersey!

World Champion Jerseys

Medals for the top three in each category/age group, and the winner receives a World Champion jersey, made of Castelli's technical fabrics, but dripping with the glory of rainbow stripes.
