Registration for Liège-Bastogne-Liège Challenge 2020 now open!

For the pros, an attacking breakaway uphill or a sprint at the finish line will determine whether they win or lose, but similarly it will be important for the cycling fans to be quick too. After all, if you register quickly, you will benefit from a discount  You can choose between three different distances: 70, 147 or 266 km, all with start and finish in Liège.

The course of 266 km is the same as the professionals’ race the day before, and accounts for more than 3,700 metres of elevation in total! However, the 70 and 147km routes also offer plenty of challenges. There will be hard work, sweat and enjoyment on the iconic hills such as the Côte de Wanne, the Côte de la Roche-aux-Faucons and the Côte de La Redoute. This will allow participants to follow in the footsteps of real champions like Philippe Gilbert, Bob Jungels, Alejandro Valverde, Jakob Fuglsang, and add Liège-Bastogne-Liège to their own track record. After their heroic efforts, participants can enjoy the pro team presentations on the Place Saint-Lambert in the centre of Liège.

Last year, just over half of the participants in the Liège-Bastogne-Liège Challenge came from abroad. Italians, Spaniards, Dutch, Brits and of course many Belgians consider this cycle race as one of the biggest challenges on their cycling calendar! Furthermore, this classic climb race is taking place for the 10th time next year, a jubilee year. To mark this special occasion, the organisation is premiering a new cycling outfit.

Safety First Thanks to Continental

“The LBL Challenge is a bucket list cycling tour for all riders who are looking for a climb challenge and we are extremely proud to be able to play a role in that", says Thomas Vanautgaerden, Marketing Communications Manager Continental Benelux. "As partner of the LBL Challenge, Continental attached a lot of importance to safety before, during and after the cycling tours. To this end, Continental does not just use its expertise in the tyre and automotive technology to reduce the number of traffic accidents to zero, but also more crucially to improve mutual understanding and respect between all road users – in particular cyclists and drivers. During our tours, we attach a great deal of importance to the safety of all participants by - for instance - using lots of signallers, marking dangerous passages and raising awareness about always setting off with the appropriate equipment.”
