CLIF CampoVelo Returns for the 4th Year, May 1-3, 2020
Three Days of Cycling, Food and Libations in Napa Valley

Chef Chris Cosentino gathers cyclist, chef, winemaker, & brewmaster friends for fun and fundraising with special guest Greg LeMond

Saint Helena, Calif. (January 29, 2020) – The fourth annual CLIF CampoVelo will take place May 1-3, 2020 in Napa Valley. The annual event combines world class cycling, wellness, cuisine, libations, and fundraising into a unique three-day experience in the heart of America’s preeminent wine growing region. With cyclists and foodies arriving from around the country for a “leave the kids at home” destination Napa Valley weekend, this year, CampoVelo will celebrate all things electric: bikes, cars, and cooking.

Three Days of Cycling, Food and Libations in Napa Valley

In 2020, CampoVelo will highlight off-the-beaten path and intimate cycling adventures, explore e-bikes and the integration of technology in training, and offer hands-on culinary and wellness demonstrations that enhance both human and environmental longevity.

Title sponsor, Clif Bar & Company, returns this year along with Clif Family Winery, Colavita, First Republic Bank, Giant & Liv, with a welcome to new partners; global cycling apparel brand ASSOS, Rivian, the emissions-free Electric Adventure vehicle, and Wahoo, the global leader in smart training.

CampoVelo is also thrilled to announce that Greg LeMond will be joining for the weekend. LeMond is considered the only American to win the Tour de France, and who is being awarded the Congressional Gold Medal of Honor, one of North America's two highest civilian honors, the other being the Presidential Medal of Freedom. The bill was summited by California Congressman Mike Thompson (CA-05) “to award a Congressional Gold Medal to LeMond in recognition of his service to the United States as an athlete, activist, role model, and community leader.” Congressman Thompson is also an avid cyclist and participant at CampoVelo.

“Each year, we strive to partner with both people and brands that speak to our mission to provide guests with the ultimate weekend of cycling coupled with premium products and services to give them new and distinctive experiences. This year, we are focusing on tech in sport. Our guests will be exposed to the latest tech products and will get a front row view of how technology is changing how we ride a bike, cook, and make wine,” says CampoVelo co-founder Rebecca Kotch of Ride Napa Valley.

Co-founder Chef Cosentino added, “We’ve become known as the premiere ‘foodie fondo,’ sharing incredible chef demos and dishes that feature really good, healthy food that speaks to the changing habits of our guests—we’ve seen an increase in vegetarians and vegans. And yes, even this snout-to-tail loving chef is evolving as well! I am now deep in food planning for our special guest, LeMond, who also will be on the culinary stage with me as my sous chef!”

By blending the best of the food and beverage world with cycling, hiking, and yoga, CampoVelo has become an annual highlight for both locals and visitors alike. Over the course of the weekend, an array of  featured guests, including Team CLIF BAR Cycling, will lead attendees in a myriad of activities designed to support and promote CampoVelo’s deserving beneficiaries. Hotel partners include Calistoga Motor Lodge and Cottage Grove Inn.

Each morning, featured guests will accompany the participants in cycling adventures throughout the vineyard valleys and winery hillsides
