Moreno Moser comes from a famous family of Italian cyclists, his uncle Francesco won the Giro d'Italia in 1984, uncle Aldo rode 20 Grand Tours and finished 5th in the 1956 Giro d'Italia. Uncle Enzo was the first winner of the Giro del Trentino in 1962. His father Diego, brothers Leonardo and Matteo and cousin Ignazio also competed professionally.
During his career Moser rode all three Grand Tours and won many races including Trofeo Laigueglia and Strade Bianche to name a few. He famously helped Liquigas–Cannondale teammate Peter Sagan win the Gran Premio Città di Camaiore race in 2013.

In early March in beautiful spring weather, Mathieu van der Poel attacked on the final climb of Via Santa Caterina to cross the line ahead of Julian Alaphilippe and Egan Bernal to win 15th edition of Strade Bianche.
The name Strade Bianche comes from the historic white gravel roads which are a defining feature of this classic professional WorldTour race.
A weekend of stupendous riding awaits you in one of the most beautiful areas to cycle anywhere in the world. With the customary excellent Italian hospitality make this a trip not to be missed, with priority entry on the Granfondo Strade Bianche start line.
There are two routes, the 139.2 km Gran Fondo is the same of the Women’s élite race won this year by Chantal van den Broek-Blaak who attacked Italian Champion Elisa Longo Borghini (Trek-Segafredo) on the Via Santa Caterina climb in the final kilometre to finish off an excellent team effort with World Champion Anna van der Breggen finishing in third place.
The 86.6 km Medio Fondo is the same until to Murlo, where it turns right with a dirt road sector and a descent to Monteroni d’Arbia.
The Gran Fondo contains 31.6 km of gravel White Roads and the Medio 21.6km.
This is a 3 nights / 4 days package for a maximum of 20 riders ONLY with priority entry on the Granfondo Strade Bianche start line. Non riders are welcome and will be looked after in comfort and style.
This includes all private transfers including to and from Pisa airport (Florence) staying at the fabulous 4-star Belvedere di San Leonino hotel in the heart of Tuscany, and a special Italy Bike Tours gift Bundle.
Surrounded by vineyards, Belvedere Di San Leonino is located in Castellina in Chianti, in the heart of the Chianti area. Set in a historic country house from the 1400s, this property offers rooms decorated in a typical Tuscan style.
The Belvedere features private gardens with free parking and a spacious outdoor swimming pool. The beautiful panoramic views include the vineyards, olive groves, the Elsa Valley, San Gimignano and Siena.
Each room comes with terracotta flooring, high oak-beamed ceilings, antique furniture and wrought-iron beds.
Il Cortile restaurant serves buffet breakfast, and Tuscan cuisine for dinner. In the evening, aperitif and drinks are served in the bar with lounge.
Guests can enjoy free wine tasting at a nearby shop.
Florence is 28 miles from Hotel Belvedere Di San Leonino, while Siena is a 20-minute drive away.

DAY 1- Friday September 10th

On arrival at Pisa (Florence) airport, Italy Bike Tour's friendly team will be in place to bike you up and transfer you to the hotel. On arrival you will have time to unpack, relax and tweak bikes (with the support of IBT staff) before heading out on a costmary spin around the local area to test legs, bikes and white road!
Dinner will be served in the hotel restaurant. The head chef and his team in the kitchen using local produced food in a time honoured tradition that involves more than a little passion.
DAY 2 - Strade Bianche Pro Race – Saturday September 11th

Hotel: Belvedere Di San Leonino
This morning we will ride to the expo village, a just to grab some souvenirs and collect your registration. A great opportunity to soak in the atmosphere and gran fondo vibe. Your guide will take you on a route back to the hotel that will be part of tomorrow gran fondo. Dinner served in local restaurant, prepared specifically with gran fondo in mind.
DAY 3 - Strade Bianche GF – Sunday September 12th
Destinations: Gran Fondo
Hotel: Belvedere Di San Leonino
Mechanics will be on hand to make sure bikes perfectly tuned and ready to roll. The short ride to the Gran Fondo start line is a great way to warm up before taking your place in the starting grid.
As ever Italy Bike staff will be dotted around the route with drinks and nutrition. They are there to offer support, a push and if needed a motivational speech. They will also meet you on the finish line, taking care of your bike will you enjoy the pasty party and festivities that are the finish of the Strade Bianchi Gran Fondo.
Day 4 - Sunrise Ride – Monday September 13th
This morning we offer you a truly unique and very Italy Bike Tours experience. Italy Bike Tours staff will be up early to prepare the bikes for what is our sunrise ride. A loop that allows you to maximise your time in Italy as well as the truly wonderful experience of watching the sun slowly rise across the Tuscan landscape. As the world wakes up we will stop in Castiglione D’Orica for café and broche. A chance to pause and watch the world go by before we hop on the bikes and ride back to the hotel. With plenty of time to shower, pack and check out, staff will be on hand to transfer you to your next destination.
