Repeatedly hailed “Southern California’s Favorite Ride”, Big Bear Cycling Association (BBCA) announces the return of the Tour de Big Bear on Saturday, August 7th

Did you miss Tour de Big Bear? They sure missed you all!  They can’t wait to welcome all their cycling friends back to Big Bear this year!

They’ve got a few changes in store for the 2021 Tour de Big Bear with some route changes, plus the addition of the NEW Gravel Ride!  Plus the 2021 Tour de Big Bear start/finish and Expo will be held at Bear Mountain!

The Tour de Big Bear Returns in 2021

Big Bear Lake is Southern California’s four-season mountain lake escape. Situated in the San Bernardino National Forest at 6,752’ elevation, it has cooler summer temperatures along with stunning mountain scenery.   

The Tour de Big Bear features alpine roadways and trails over high mountain passes like Onyx Summit (elevation of 8,443 feet), and around Big Bear and Baldwin Lakes – plus fully staffed Aid Stations that feature ribs, bacon and other tasty treats.  

The 2021 Tour de Big Bear will start and finish at Bear Mountain Resort.  Routes include:

  Tour de Big Bear Fun Ride – 5k
  Tour de Big Bear – 25 miles
  Big Bear Valley Tour – 50 miles
  The Grand Tour – 70 miles
  The Climb – 100 miles
  The Dirty Bear Gravel Ride – 50 miles of mixed surface

Tour de Big Bear Aid Stations

The Tour de Big Bear is known for its legendary aid stations!  Ribs, avocado toast, bacon, just to name a few of the delicious treats you’ll enjoy along the way.   Plus, the usual hydration and nutrition items to fuel your ride.

Tour de Big Bear Weekend Events

The Big Bear Cycling Association (BBCA) hosts a two-day cycling expo that includes 40+ cycling vendors, a complimentary bike valet for registered riders, entry into the Beer Garden, participation in BBCA’s famous raffle, and entertainment during Saturday’s festivities.  We also have several other events to round out your weekend in Big Bear.

Come up early and get acclimated to the altitude with the Glow Rides and Poker Rides. Wind down on Sunday with the Recovery Ride.

Thursday Night Glow Ride – August 5th

Start your weekend by joining the second annual Glow Ride.  Dress up your bikes and show off your lights as everyone parades through the Big Bear Village!  It’s family-friendly and a great way to kick off the Tour de Big Bear weekend!  Prizes for best use of lights and best of all – it’s FREE!

Friday Poker Rides – August 6th

The Poker Ride has been so popular that they added a second ride!  Get acclimated with a fun and friendly ride around Big Bear Lake. The early ride starts at 4 pm and the second ride departs at 6 pm on Friday night.  There are several stops set up around the lake and if you’re lucky, you might just have a winning poker hand!  And it’s also FREE!

Sunday Recovery Ride – August 8th

Rounding out the weekend are their organized free recovery rides on Sunday.  Spin out your legs after the Tour de Big Bear with a relaxed ride around one or both lakes.
