Here is the official route of the new Giro del Veneto race  and details of the Granfondo

The “new” Giro del Veneto presents itself with a race route that follows the great history and tradition of the Venetian race, projected in a perspective of a real spectacular event open to all

official route of the new Giro del Veneto race

Selective but not too demanding, also considering the fall season, it features 2,168 meters of total elevation gain, distributed over 168.8 km.

The start will be given on Wednesday October 13rd 2021 at 12:00 PM from Piazza Duomo in Cittadella, Italy arriving around 15:50 and 16:10 at Prato della Valle in Padova.

The route sees a little less than 50 km on flat land, where there will be a “battle” between those who want to go in a breakaway. At km 46.6 the first climb towards the Sanctuary of the Madonna di Monte Berico will be followed by a climb towards San Giovanni in Monte.

Descent on Nanto along the “Strada degli Olivi” and entry into the circuit (two laps with only some sections affected by 3 passages) of 21.3 km that sees the climb to the junction Fiorine the most selective section. At km 135, having passed the Fiorine junction, it turns towards the short climbs of Castelnuovo and, above all, towards Il Roccolo.

A descent to Galzignano Terme where the final 23 km flat section begins. At 10 km to go, the passage from Abano Terme before the very last stretch towards the conquest of Prato della Valle in Padova.

The double passage (at km 95.8 and km 117.1), strongly desired by the organisers, is loaded with symbolic meaning: Vo’ Euganeo, the true Veneto symbol of the fight against Covid, in the most acute phases of the pandemic.

The event’s main partner is the Veneto Region, led by its President Zaia, which supports the Giro del Veneto (like the entire “Ride the Dreamland” project) with a view to boosting the economy and tourism.

An important acknowledgement and thank you also goes to SC Padovani, historical organiser of the Giro del Veneto, which in this “handover” and new entity, PP Sport Events, has not wanted to fail to provide its support in terms of both logistics and organisation and has committed itself to the realisation of important initiatives dedicated to children, now in the final stages of definition.

The project “Ride the Dreamland”, was created by Filippo Pozzato and Jonny Moletta, aims to ideally follow the route of the Italian Cycling Championship in 2020.

In addition to the Giro del Veneto, the project includes:

Serenissima Gravel (professionals, Friday October 15th 2021),
Granfondo VENEtoGO (amateurs, Saturday October 16th 2021)
Veneto Classic (professionals, Sunday October 17th 2021).
