Registration for 2022 Cyclo Les Copains-Cyfac Now Open
34th edition takes place July 1st-3rd 2022, with over 3,000 participants expected in the stunning Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of France
La Cyclo Les Copains-Cyfac, the original Premier cyclosportive in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region is back next summer with multiple challenges over 1 to 3 days of cycling celebration to suit all abilities of cyclists.
NEW for 2022 is an ascent of the legendary Puy de Dôme for up to 400 participants, although places are selling fast!
No longer content with just cycling around the Livradois-Forez regional park, the festival expands to explore the entire Auvergne region with the addition of the NEW self-supported 800km ULTRA distance route by its biggest climbs in less than 70 hours!
The Auvergne region is famous for its internationally renouned cheeses and original farm house production which dates back to the 1780’s, aswell as being the setting for some of most famous battles in Tour de France history.

The cycling festival kicks off with the start of the new ULTRA route for long-distance cyclists on Thursday June 30th from the festival village located in Ambert. Participants have 4 routes from 573 km to 781 km to tackle and up to 30 climbs! Participants have until 4pm on the Sunday to cross the line!

Alongside the ULTRA is the Objective puy de Dôme, a three day fully supported long distance challenge with routes from 300km to 510 km which includes the option of full-board accommodation on Friday and Saturday evenings (dinner, overnight stay and breakfast), luggage transport and a hot meal on the road on Friday and Saturday. It culminates with a time trial up the legendary 1 465m high Puy de Dôme.
The Puy de Dôme is mythical climb which has set the scene for some of the most incredible stories in Tour de France history. It was here in 1975 that Eddy Merckx was famously punched by a spectator, which eventually cost him the Tour. In 1964 Jacques Anquetil and Raymond Poulidor fought a fantastic battle on the slopes of the extinct volcano, which has featured in the Tour de France at least 13 times. The Objective puy de Dôme is your chance to climb this legendary mountain which is approximately 4.1 km long with an average of gradient of 12%!

The two day fully supported Au pays des Fourmes on the Saturday and Sunday, features routes of 170 to 290 km which includes up 12 climbs including the 1,390m high Col du Béal. Again there is the option of full-board accommodation on the Saturday evening (dinner, overnight stay, and breakfast), luggage transport and a hot meal on the road on Saturday.

For those seeking a one day challenge, the Col du Béal by Cyfac on the Sunday has options of a 13km time trial (part of the Climbers-Goodicom trophy) or a 61km randonnee, both of which offer a buffet at the top. Come and test yourself on the climb used in the 2020 Tour de France and the Critérium du Dauphiné.
The Les Copains cyclosportive on the Sunday has five route on offer; 67, 90, 115, 133 and 156km from Ambert and includes up to 10 clibs including the 1,390m high Col du Béal with splendid views at the top, with the Chain of Puys on the west side, the Mézenc on the south, the Alps on the east!

Ambert is the host village where participants can collect their bib number and browse the huge range of exhibitors from the cycling industry including local producers and health professionals. The host village includes a supervised bike park and showers located nearby.
All participants receive a classification by scratch time on the timed routes and a diploma, available in the host village in Ambert including a meal from 12:00 pm on Sunday, July 3rd. There are rewards based on scratch ranking by category, club and company.
All registrations will receive a special present on arrival at the host village to collect their bib number.
