Registration opens for British Columbia’s Triple Crown of Gravel Series 2023

British Columbia’s Premier Gravel Fondo Series announces next year’s dates. Hard, fun and beautiful! Sign up early and SAVE with a Season Pass!

Tri 1 Events have announced dates for their hugely popular series of Gravel Fondo’s next year.

The BC Triple Crown of Gravel includes well-known, popular and well-established events, the Cowichan Crusher, Vancouver Island’s premier Gravel Fondo and the Kettle Mettle, Western Canada's first and premier Gravel Fondo, and the Sea2Sky Gravel Fondo starting in Squamish, BC.  All events in the series feature scenic, challenging and well-marked courses with distances for all abilities.  As well, on the courses there are well stocked Aid Stations that offer great snacks and hydration and as always, the awesome post-race food and beverages.

The 6th edition of the Cowichan Crusher, on May 7th, 2023 is the first round of the Triple Crown series, which takes place in the scenic Cowichan Valley. The Cowichan Crusher showcases the historical nature and amazing scenery of the Cowichan Valley, providing a scenic and challenging ride. The Cowichan Crusher starts at Lake Cowichan which makes for better access to gravel roads.

Rolling hills, blanketed in lush green trees, a large lake and panoramic views are some of the reasons this is one of the best places in the world to ride gravel!

The ride features three routes of Beginner (approx. 25km), Medio (approx. 55 km), and Full Fondo (approx.100 km) distance events which cater for all abilities of cyclists. Start and finishing in Lake Cowichan, participants will enjoy nearby camping, accommodations Post event meal and cold beverage and possibly a post ride dip in the lake.

The 9th edition of the original Gravel Fondo in Western Canada, the Kettle Mettle showcases the Kettle Valley Trail and the amazing scenery of the Okanagan while also providing a safe and challenging ride on Sept 15-16, 2023.

You can choose between the recent addition2 Day event and the 1 Day Kettle Mettle Klassic Gravel Fondo.

The 1 Day Kettle Mettle Klassic Gravel Fondo has three distances for all abilities; 50km, 100km and tougher 138+ km which features additional sections of gravel.

The main start is beside Lake Okanagan, Penticton and finishes in East Kelowna. On route, there be several aid stations as well as support for riders with flats and mechanical issues and of course first aid. After the event participants will get a great post food and cold beverage and entertainment

After the ride, participants can enjoy the wine festival evening in Kelowna.

Registration includes; a Souvenir T shirt, support on course (mechanicals / flats), several aid stations on course, results with a time and draw prizes, plus overall top 3 prizes in each event.

Prize categories include men and women, individual, teams of 2 and teams of 4 participants.

The 2nd edition of the highly successful Sea 2 Sky Gravel Fondo takes place in the Riding mecca Squamish and you will experience amazing mountain views, large rivers, creeks and waterfalls as well as wide gravel Forest Service roads on September 30th 2023.

Last year nearly 400 riders enjoyed a fabulous day's riding with world class support on some of Squamish's best backcountry with sweeping switchbacks and panoramic views!

The ride features three routes of Beginner (approx. 25km), Medio (approx. 55 km), and Full Fondo (approx.100 km) distance events km which cater for all abilities of cyclists.

This is a great event with a post celebration including a race meal with cold beverage, music and a souvenir t-shirt and tons of draw prizes! 

Prize categories include men and women, individual, teams of 2 and teams of 4 participants.

The Triple Crown of Gravel riders were able to focus on more than just their heavy breathing.

The Sea to Sky Gravel Fondo takes place on the traditional territories of the Coast Salish peoples of the Skwxwu7mesh (Squamish) and the Selílwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.
