Registration Now Open for the RBC GranFondo Whistler, Sept 9 2023

The RBC GranFondo Whistler is one of the most highly anticipated cycling events in North America, and registration is now open for this year's ride. This event – firmly established as North America’s largest Gran Fondo –   promises to be bigger and better than ever, with three different routes to choose from, the return of VeloSpoke Bike and Lifestyle Expo the day before on Sept 8, as well as plenty of festivities in Whistler. Simply put, this is pinnacle Gran Fondo experience and achievement for any rider.

The Gran Fondo is the original route, covering 122 km from Vancouver to Whistler over 2100m elevation. This route is perfect for experienced cyclists who are looking for a challenge, as it takes riders through some of the most stunning scenery in the Sea-to-Sky Corridor. Along the way, participants will enjoy breathtaking views of crystal-clear lakes and lush forests. The ride starts at Stanley Park in Vancouver and takes riders through the rolling hills of Horseshoe Bay, across stunning Howe Sound and along the majestic Sea to Sky coastal mountain corridor before ending at Whistler Olympic Plaza.

The Forte category is the rockstar challenge of the RBC GranFondo Whistler, offering a mega 152km ride from Vancouver to Whistler packing 3100m climbing. This route covers even more breathtaking scenery along the Sea-to-Sky, making it the perfect option for experienced riders who are looking for a true test of their skills. The Forte route starts at Stanley Park in Vancouver and takes riders up the grueling Cypress Mountain, and across the stunning Howe Sound before ending at Whistler Olympic Plaza. Participants will enjoy panoramic views of the mountains, crystal-clear lakes, and lush forests along the way.

For those looking for a shorter distance, the Medio route is a great option. This 55 km point-to-point ride takes participants from Whistler Village and back via Callaghan. The Medio route provides riders with the opportunity to experience the natural beauty of the Sea-to-Sky Corridor in a less demanding way.

In addition to the three different routes, the RBC GranFondo Whistler also features a St. Regis Cup team race option. This 122 km race is for teams of 5-8 riders across men’s, women’s and mixed categories, with the fastest combined time determining the podium winners. It's a great option for those who enjoy a competitive edge to their cycling experience.

Participants can look forward to a weekend of festivities in Whistler. This includes live music, food and drinks, and vendor expos. It's the perfect opportunity to connect with fellow cyclists, share your experiences, and celebrate your accomplishments.

Early bird pricing is available until June 20th, 2023, so be sure to register soon to take advantage of the discounted rates. With aid stations, medical support, and traffic control along the route offering a completely car-free lane, participants can enjoy a safe and enjoyable ride through some of the most picturesque areas of the Sea-to-Sky Corridor. Whether you're a seasoned rider or a first-timer, the RBC GranFondo Whistler is an event you won't want to miss. So grab your bike, gather your friends, and register today for an unforgettable experience!
