The popular gran fondo will welcome 8,000 cyclists together with bib number 312, worn by honoured participant Vincenzo Nibali.

In addition, the race is welcoming former professional cyclists such as the Italian Ivan Basso, Spaniards Alberto Contador, Joseba Beloki, Pedro Horrillo, Óscar Pereiro and Óscar Freire, Ireland’s Sean Kelly and Germany’s André Greipel. Also taking to the start line is the manager of football’s reigning World Cup champions, Argentina’s Lionel Scaloni.

The former pro cyclists have a combined total of 539 professional victories. Particularly impressive are the victories of bib number 312, Vincenzo Nibali, who is one of the chosen few to have climbed to the very top of the podium at all three major stage races, namely the Tour de France in 2014, the Giro d’Italia twice (2013 and 2016) and La Vuelta, in 2013 and 2017.

Another participant who’s achieved such a milestone is Alberto Contador, winning the Tour in 2007 and 2009 and the Giro d’Italia in 2008 and 2015, in addition to his triple crown in La Vuelta in 2008, 2012 and 2014.

As for the others, Óscar Pereiro won the 2006 Tour, Italian Ivan Basso won two Giro d’Italia (2006 and 2010) and Sean Kelly won the 1988 Vuelta.

In addition to these grand tour winners, the Mallorca 312 OK Mobility will also feature three-time World Champion Óscar Freire and his long-time leadout, Pedro Horrillo. The Cantabrian rider will once again share kilometres with a sprint specialist in the form of the German André Greipel, winner of 11 stages in the Tour de France.
