Escape the summer heat and join 3,000 cyclists in beautiful Big Bear Lake in California, at over 6,700 feet above sea level, for the 14th Annual Tour de Big Bear!

The Tour de Big Bear features legendary aid stations, beautiful mountain scenery and spectacular summer weather.  With a Family Fun Ride, 25, 50, 70 and 100 mile road courses plus The Dirty Bear and Dirty Cub gravel rides, there’s a route for every cycling enthusiast!

We’re back to Bear Mountain Resort in 2024!  Check out the Cycling Expo and the family-friendly activities on Friday, August 2 and Saturday, August 3 - and Live Entertainment both days.

Come early and get acclimated with our Friday Poker Ride and Friday Night Glow Ride. Follow it up on Sunday with our Free Road and Gravel Recovery Rides!

Tour de Big Bear Route Options

Escape the summer heat and join us in beautiful Big Bear Lake, California for the annual Tour de Big Bear!   Enjoy alpine roadways and trails, over high mountain passes like Onyx Summit (elevation of 8,443 feet), and around Big Bear and Baldwin Lakes. With five courses to choose from, plus the gravel ride, there’s a route that’s sure to please most everyone!

Tour de Big Bear Aid Stations

The Tour de Big Bear is known for its legendary aid stations! There are up to seven aid stations provided for your food and hydration needs along the routes. Each station’s menu was prepared and selected by adventure athletes and nutritionists to provide the best in fluid and fuel during your ride.

Ribs, avocado toast, bacon, just to name a few of the delicious treats you’ll enjoy along the way. Plus, the usual hydration and nutrition items to fuel your ride.

Tour de Big Bear Awards and $$$ Prizes

The Gran Fondo included timed climb called Onyx Assault a climb of roughly 8.6 miles at 5% to the top of Onyx Summit at 8,443 feet above sea level. The climb hosts the QOM/KOM competition with over $1,200 cash prizes on offer!

To receive a time for KOM/QOM, you must pass the KOM/QOM start line by 12:00.

Don’t Miss the Tour de Big Bear Weekend Events

Make a Long Weekend of It! Start/Finish, Cycling Expo plus live entertainment at Bear Mountain Resort.

The Big Bear Cycling Association (BBCA) hosts a two-day cycling expo that includes 40+ cycling vendors, a complimentary bike valet for registered riders, entry into the Beer Garden, participation in BBCA’s famous raffle, and entertainment during Saturday’s festivities.  They also have several other events to round out your weekend in Big Bear.

Friday Poker Ride – August 2nd

Presented by Goldsmith’s Sports – FREE!

The Poker Ride is about 20 miles and is a great way to get acclimated prior to the event. This is a first come, first serve event and space is limited to 250 riders. To ensure your spot, make sure to sign up early that day (onsite registration only).

There are several stops set up around the lake and if you’re lucky, you might just have a winning poker hand!  And it’s also FREE!

Friday Night Glow Ride – August 2nd

Presented by Get Boards – FREE!

Join us as we light up the night in Big Bear!  Bust out those costumes and lights and parade around the neighborhoods of Big Bear!

Dress up your bikes and show off your lights as we parade through the Big Bear Village!  It’s family-friendly and a great way to kick off the Tour de Big Bear weekend! Prizes for best use of lights and best of all!

Sunday Recovery Ride – August 4th

Rounding out the weekend are our organized free recovery rides on Sunday.  Easy recovery ride on open roads around one or both lakes or join up with the gravel recovery ride.  Spin out your legs after the Tour de Big Bear with a relaxed ride.

Starting from the Copper Q in the Village. Go early and enjoy some delicious treats and a cup of coffee!
