L'Étape Denmark by Tour de France gearing up for Huge Cycling Festival
Organizers reveal over 6,000 participants have already registered before June 29th, with nearly 400 International cyclists from over 24 countries coming to experience the thrill of riding an authentic “Stage of the Tour de France”

The Tour de France Grand Départ in Denmark in the summer of 2022 was a major success! The Tour de France isn’t finished with Denmark just yet, now thousands of Danish and international amateur cyclists will experience what it’s like to ride like a pro in the Tour de France on Danish soil!
The 1st official edition of the L’Etape Denmark by Tour de France was held in 2023. The event was a huge success with more than 2,500 riders taking part and experiencing the authentic Tour de France atmosphere.
However, organisers have just revealed that so far, over 6,000 participants have already registered in advance, far exceeding their expectations! With cyclists coming from as far as Brasil to Bulgaria. Netherlands to Norway. Poland to Portugal. UK to USA.
Organizers expect over 7,000 participants to take part this June.
One of the main attractions is the plethora of distances on offer to cater for cyclists of all abilities. So if you haven’t registered, it’s time to find your “Inner Viking” and challenge yourself on of one five road courses of 50, 75, 125, 160 and 300km!
It’s also your opportunity to meet and ride with legend Johan Museeuw the official ambassador of L'Etape Denmark.
Le Tour atmosphere in Denmark!
The L’Etape by Tour de France series guarantees that participants will get a taste of what it feels like to ride the Tour de France. This includes a number of timed QOM/ KOM and Sprint sections, just like the Tour! This is your opportunity to compete for the iconic Leader’s jerseys. The yellow jersey is up for grabs as well as the Green sprinters jersey and the climbers Polka Dot jersey too!

Which stage should I choose?
Depending on your ability, the amount of training you’ve managed to fit in this season and over the next couple of months, there’s a course for you!
Starting in the fourth wave at 11:30am, the shortest distance contains 400m of climbing. The Viking Gran Fondo is an unforgettable ride back through history, and on our 50 km route from Funder to Viborg everyone can take part.
The route follows the natural ridge that was formed through Jutland during the last ice age. Here, an ancient road – Hærvejen – has, over the centuries, helped migrants, pilgrims, merchants and Vikings stay dry as they made their way up through Denmark.
The route passes through the beautiful landscape of the Hærvejen ancient road with rolling cornfields, beech forests, hills, lakes and idyllic villages.
The route also offers plenty of opportunities to enjoy the ride. Along the way, you roll through one of our feed stations, famous not only for their great food but also for their even better atmosphere.
On all stages, the fastest male and female rider will have the opportunity to grab the Yellow Jersey for the fastest overall time!

Starting in the fourth wave at 11:30am, the 75 km route from Norre Snede to Viborg is for those who want an incredible cycling experience on the ancient highway Hærvejen with family, friends, colleges or their team. Everyone can participate.
The route also offers plenty of opportunities to enjoy the ride. At two places along the way, you roll through one of the feed stations, famous not only for their great food but also for their even better atmosphere.

Starting in the third wave at 10:00am, theroute from Aalborg to Viborg is the only one of our road routes heading from north to south. It features a fascinating mix of physical challenges, historical sights and attractions and breath-taking scenery at every turn of the pedals.
The 125 km route and its steep climbs will certainly challenge your “Inner Viking”. The route passes through the beautiful landscape of the ancient road Hærvejen with rolling cornfields, beech forests, hills, lakes and idyllic villages.
Your inner Viking will be nurtured along the way, when you pass close by some of the most famous viking sights and attractions in Denmark.
While the hardships of this demanding gran fondo will definitely put you to the test, the route also offers plenty of opportunities to enjoy the ride. Three places along the way, you roll through one of our feed stations, famous not only for their great food but also for their even better atmosphere.

Starting in the second wave at 9:30am, Are you up for a century-ride with a fascinating mix of physical challenges, historical sights and attractions and breath-taking scenery at every turn of the pedals? The 160 km route from Vejen to Viborg is both challenging, historic and beautiful.
You need to bring out your inner Viking to overcome this 160 km challenge and its climbs of up to 10%. The 160 km route from Vejen to Viborg equates to riding a century (100 miles) and passes through the beautiful landscape with rolling cornfields, beech forests, hills, lakes and idyllic villages.
Your “Inner Viking” will be nurtured along the way. Not least when you ride through Jelling, a stronghold of famous Viking kings in the tenth century. As you pass within touching distance of King Harald Bluetooth’s famous rune stone, you can almost imagine Viking horns growing out of your helmet.
While the hardships of this demanding gran fondo will definitely put you to the test, the route also offers plenty of opportunities to enjoy the ride. Four places along the way, you roll through one of our feed stations, famous not only for their great food but also for their even better atmosphere.

Starting bright and early in the first wave at 6:00am, the 300 km route from Flensburg to Viborg is our most challenging and most iconic.
Crossing the 300-kilometre mark in one ride will challenge your inner Viking and even the most experienced cyclists, but the sense of accomplishment once you finish it is worth every pedal stroke.
The route starts in Germany, soon crossing the border into Denmark and then passing through the beautiful landscape with rolling cornfields, beech forests, hills, lakes and idyllic villages.
Your inner Viking will be nurtured along the way. Not least when you ride through Jelling, a stronghold of famous Viking kings in the tenth century. As you pass within touching distance of King Harald Bluetooth’s famous rune stone, you can almost imagine Viking horns growing out of your helmet.

The experience in the finishing area will be extraordinary with a so far unseen yellow celebration and the addition of a smaller Village known from the Tour de France finishing cities.
The routes contain short timed segments that are completely closed for traffic. Here it's possible to fight for the official Tour de France leaders' jerseys.
The winners of the different jerseys will be celebrated at an official podium ceremony in the finishing area.#
