Join the team of Breakaway Promotions for another spectacular celebration of gravel at the three-day, all-inclusive gravel stage race, the Last Grizzly Gravel!  The adventure starts in Northern Utah before heading across the border into Idaho traversing the the Bear Mountain Range in Wasatch/Cache National Forest. Come witness the amazing brilliance of golds of the high aspens to the cobalt colors of Northern Utah's famous Bear Lake.  

The Last Grizzly Gravel is a 3-day all-inclusive gravel bike ride and race, transversing Utah and Idaho with spectacular views of the Bear Lake, a natural freshwater lake on the Idaho–Utah border in the Western United States. About 109 square miles in size, it is split about equally between the two states; its Utah portion comprises the second-largest natural freshwater lake in Utah, after Utah Lake.

The event will take place September 20-22nd, 2024, and is limited to only 200 riders.  Like its bigger cousin in Oregon, The Oregon Trail, our team will provide high-quality camping locations, full logisitical support, and breathtaking courses.  If you are ready to take on this 270 miles 20,000-foot challenge sign up now to secure your spot.  The event will begin and end in the historic town of Ogden, Utah one of the fastest growing towns for the outdoor industry. 

The ride is named after the incredible tale of Old Ephraim, the last grizzly in Utah, a notorious twelve year old great grizzly bear that once roamed and ruled the Cache National Forest in Idaho and Utah.

Like its bigger cousin in Oregon, The Oregon Trail, Team Breakaway will provide high-quality camping locations, full logistical support, and breath-taking courses.

Breakaway Promotions excited to announce inclusion to the 2024 Gravel Earth Series

The course is approximately 237 miles with 19,700-feet of climbing and starts and ends in the historic town of Ogden, Utah one of the fastest growing towns for the outdoor industry. The campsite is located at Rendezvous Beach, Bear Lake State Park, Utah which will host the opening dinner on Friday night and Finish Line Festivities on Sunday afternoon.

Stage 1 is approx. 75 miles with 7,600 feet of climbing from the start to Bear Lake. Stage 2 is 92 miles with 7,400 feet of climbing from Bear Lake to Beaver Creek. The final Stage 3 is 70 miles with 4,700 feet of climbing from Bear Lake back to the start. Full course details will be published shortly.

2 Nights Camping

As a participant, all you have to do is ride!  At packet pickup, you will be given a gear tote which you will pack all of our supplies for camping and riding in. The logistics team will transport your gear from the ride start each day to the next day's campsite, leaving you to enjoy; Delicious Catered Breakfast, Lunch, & Dinners, Nightly Campsite Festivities, Stocked Aid Stations, Fat Tire Celebration Station, On-Course & In-Camp Mechanics and Gear Transportation

You can bring your own tent or pick the VIP Tent add-on option, and they’ll set up a tent for you with the VIP Tent Set-Up & Take-Down.

VIP Lodge Accommodations

For those who Love riding but not a fan of camping, you can choose one of the VIP Lodge Accommodations. Team Breakaway will transport you to the lodge on Friday night, pick you up for the start on Saturday, then you'll finish at the lodge Saturday. Reservations are for the entire room so fill it with friends (there are 2-3 beds in each room) or keep it for yourself!
