Stephens and Easter blitz Quadruple Dog Dare You at FoCo Fondo

10th edition of Northern Colorado’s Premier Gravel Fondo, the Foco Fondo another big success with over 1,600 gravels fans participating in the ride and many more enjoying the Bike and Outdoor Lifestyle Expo!

This year's 10th Annual FoCo Fondo was absolutely dreamy, taking place in glorious weather all weekend. 

FoCo Fondo p/b Fat Tire expanded to the whole weekend with a Bike and Outdoor Lifestyle Expo, preceding the ever-growing main gravel event day on the Sunday.

The weekend centered around New Belgium Brewing with gravel cycling culture, and bike and outdoor lifestyle culture. Attendees had the opportunity to try out a variety of demo bikes from gravel, MTB, e-bike, and adaptive bikes, on a closed demo course. Brands from a variety of cycling and Colorado outdoor culture attended.

The expo and demo day  was sprinkled with special New Belgium Brewery tours, beer service from the New Belgium Liquid Center, food trucks, packet pick up, and shakeout rides, aimed at a final preparation for the main event the following day.

On Sunday, Griffin Easter from Park City, UT was fastest in the brutal 118 mile Quadruple Dog Dare You course in an incredible time of 5:29:40, average speed of 21.39mph. Lance Haidet from San Luis Obispo, CA was second just 1 second behind and Kyle Trudeau from Tucson, AZ was 2 seconds behind in a final sprint to the from the breakway of a dozen riders that fractured in the final run back into Fort Collins. 

For the 118 mile Quadruple Dog Dare You  premiere course, there was the coveted bolo ties earned upon a specific arrival time that was as competitive as ever!

In the women's category, UCI Pro cyclist Lauren Stephens (Cynisca Cycling) was fastest in a time of 6:00:26. Kyleigh Spearing from Superior was second in a time of 6:10:43 and Emma Grant from Boulder was third in a time of 6:12:23.

In the Triple Dog Dare You 100 Mile, Robert Strobel from Lafayette was fastest in a time of 4:44:20, outpsrinting Jake Magee from  Longmont and Chris Stuart from Boise, ID. In the women's Triple Dog Dare You 100 Mile, Hannah Shell from Longmont was fastest in a time of 4:59:34 ahead of Ivy Pedersen from Fruita and Tracey Jacobs from Boulder.

In the Double Dog Dare You 60 Mile, Cory Flood from Fort Collins was fastest in a time of 2:55:49, ahead of Chase Robertson from Boulder and Ben Yokley from Broomfield. In the women's category Kirby Kelly from Denver was fastest in a time 3:16:17 ahead of Chavon Rosenthal from Boulder and Gwen Talaski from Scottsdale, AZ.

Tyler Peterson from Fort Collins was fastest at the Dare You 32 Mile in a time of 1:23:18 and Jennifer DeSouchet from Fort Collins was fastest for the women in 1:35:51.

There was over $9,000 in cash prizes awarded for the overall mens, womens, non-binary/gender expansive podiums, and age group, para, and single speed prizes.

Post ride, riders and the friends and family enjoyed live music, a post ride free Fat Tire meal and great vibes at the finish festival!
