Tasmania Joins the Gran Fondo Revolution

Tasmania, you know the small Island just south of Australia (where the Tasmanian Devil comes from) has joined the worldwide Italian Gran Fondo movement.

Their event scheduled for the 22nd February 2014 starts on the Nort side of the Island in Devonport and heads south west to Strahan.

The Pure Tasmania Cycle Challenge offer a 135km from Cradle Mountain to Strahan and a 219km ride from Devonport to Strahan. This cycling challenge has been labelled the hardest ride in Australia, with an altitude gain of 5,531 feet.

They are proudly sponsored by Federal Group, Events Tasmania, Pipers Brook Winery, James Boag, Petuna, Cadbury and Endura.

The PTCC is an endurance event over two distances, 135km Cradle Mountain to Strahan and 219km Devonport to Strahan.

It is also a fundraising platform for the Make a Wish Foundation.
