450 lucky cyclists had the opportunity to cycle 22.4 miles up one of the most scenic paved roads in the country Mt. Baker Highway, climbing over 4,462 feet (1,360m) on Saturday September 14th in Whatcom County.

The fall weather was perfect, crisp, clean and dry with breath-taking views in all directions.

Mt. Baker Highway is rarely closed to motorized vehicles, with steep elevation and several switchbacks, this ride is not for the faint hearted!

There are three categories allowing cyclists of all abilities to have a super fun day out; social, recreational and competitive.

In the competitive category, 2 times World Hill Climb Champion Phil Gaimon took the KOM title last year in a time of 1:14:42. His record is going to be very hard to beat!

On the day, overall Cal Skilsky from Bellingham was fastest in a time of 1:22:41, Elouan Gardon from Acme second 10s behind, and Casey Bloomer from Mount Vernon Washington in third 16s behind.
