Due to demand, the Siskiyou Scenic Bicycle Tour is offering more rides and more fun on the weekend of May 17 – 18, 2025, in Siskiyou County, CA!

2025 Siskiyou Scenic Bicycle Tour Expands to Offer More Rides

Yreka, situated twenty-two miles south of the Oregon border, is renowned for the Mt. Shasta Ski and Recreation Area, Marble Mountain & Trinity Alps Wilderness Areas, trails, camping, bicycle touring and events, fishing, river rafting, historical districts, and now also has a casino in Yreka.  At 2,595 feet above sea level, Yreka offers a delightful climate in May with many wildflowers.

This two-day event features both pavement and gravel rides, allowing enthusiasts of one bike type to enjoy two days of cycling in Siskiyou County.

On Saturday May 17th, there will be four all-pavement rides and one gravel ride starting between 7 am and 10 am. On Sunday May 18th will feature two gravel rides and one all-pavement ride.

Entry includes a promotional gift, map, snacks, multiple rest stops with food and drinks, an end-of-ride party with a hot meal (beer available for purchase), and SAG wagons will be sweeping the course to help you out of any situation. There are up to 5 rest stops.

Prizes will be awarded for each ride length category, first registration, oldest and youngest participant, the participant from farthest away, and the largest group.

A delicious meal will be served from noon - 5 pm for all registered riders at the event HQ in Upper Greenhorn Park. Additional meal tickets may be purchased for $15 each. Live music will be provided in the park during the afternoon festivities.

Tent camping will be available at Greenhorn Park for $15/night per tent. There are bathrooms, but no showers on site, however showers will be available at the local YMCA for no charge. There are several RV parks with full hook-ups for RV's and there is plenty of lodging in Yreka.

Event T-shirts are short sleeve performance fabric- available for $25 each with a full range of men’s and women’s sizes.

Saturday Rides

104 mile all pavement

This route has 6,027  ft. in elevation gain. Incredible scenery. It starts and ends at Upper Greenhorn Park, starting at 7am on Saturday May 17th, 2025 with police escort through Yreka. This is the old traditional Siskiyou Century which goes over Forest Mt. into and through Scott Valley and back over Gazelle Mtn.  5 rest stops. All pavement. Meal and entertainment at the finish. Cost $85. Starts at 7am.

67 mile all pavement

This is our metric century with 2,302 ft. of elevation gain. Exactly the same as our 2024 route. Saturday May 17th 2025. It starts at Upper Greenhorn Park at 8am on Saturday May 18th with a police escort through town, goes south to Edgewood, then back through Shasta Valley. There are 4 rest stops, with lots of food. Meal and entertainment at the finish, and lots of beer. Cost $75. Beer for purchase. Starts at 8am.

40 mile all pavement

Starts at Upper Greenhorn Park in Yreka at 9 am on Saturday May 17th with a police escort through town. Winds through beautiful Shasta Valley with 3 rest stops at Little Shasta Church and the Montague Railroad Park, coming and going.  End of ride meal with beer and entertainment at the finish. 1534 ft. of elevation gain. Gorgeous views of Mt. Shasta. Cost $55. Beer for purchase.

21 mile all pavement

Some hills with 1,055  ft. of elevation gain. Starts at 9 am at Upper Greenhorn Park  on Saturday May 17th with a police escort through town. One rest stop at the Montague Railroad Depot Museum. End of ride meal, beer and entertainment at the park. Cost $35. Beer for purchase.

NEW 60 mile Gravel Ride 

We're adding a gravel ride for Saturday May 17th to give our gravel riders 2 days of gravel fun! This ride stays in Shasta Valley and the hills along the East side of the valley. 59.4 miles, 2,382 ft. of elevation gain. Three nice sections of gravel. Cost $75. Starts at 8am from Upper Greenhorn Park.

Sunday Rides

Sunday May 18th will feature two gravel rides and one all-pavement ride

Greenhorn Gravel Grinder- Mother Lode

62 mile gravel ride on Sunday May 18th 2025,  starting at 8am, to Cram Gulch, over Scarface to Ft. Jones, then over Greenhorn Summit and back to the park.  Very challenging. 6,474 ft. Elevation gain. Great scenery! Rest stops, sag wagons, end of ride meal and beer for purchase. A favorite of JMBA. It's the best kept secret in gravel rides on the West Coast. Cost-$75

Greenhorn Gravel Grinder- Fool's Gold, 39 mile

This is a mostly gravel  39 mile route with 3 steep hill climbs over Greenhorn Summit and back over a slightly different route. You will be challenged. 3 rest stops- at the summit either way and in Fort Jones. 4,115 ft. of elevation gain. Sag wagon support. End of ride meal and entertainment and beer for purchase. Starts at 9am  on Sunday May 18th from Upper  Greenhorn Park. $55.

NEW 35 mile all pavement route

This is a ride on Sunday May 18th to give our all pavement riders 2 days of fun. This will start and finish in Fort Jones, over the hill from Yreka at 9am. 35.3 miles with 1226 ft of elevation gain. Goes through Quartz Valley and Scott Valley. End of ride meal back at Upper Greenhorn Park. Beautiful scenery! Cost $45.
