GFNY World Series reveals 2025 Gran Fondo Calendar of 30+ events
GFNY is a personal endurance challenge where you compete against others, the clock and yourself. GFNY NYC serves as the GFNY World Championship for the GFNY World Series of races.
GFNY World events provide you that same challenge in locations around the world. Additionally, you get the chance to qualify for a front corral start at the GFNY World Championship in NYC.
All GFNY events provide the following for you to BE A PRO FOR A DAY with a mass start, chiping timing with awards for all categories on Closed roads or police moderated traffic that ensures you don't have to stop during the race.
All GFNY World races offer the long marathon route, which is 110-180km long, and a medium route that is 40-90km long. Every finisher, regardless if they finish the long route or medium route, receive a Finisher Medal.
The Long Route finishers are ranked by finish time, and age group podium winners are invited on the podium during the Awards Ceremony.
The Medium Route is not competitive. Riders are chip timed start-to-finish, however the finish times are listed alphabetically by the rider’s last name.
The 13th annual Michelob ULTRA GFNY World Championship New York will be held on May 18, 2025. The race features the world’s most international peloton with riders from over 90 countries. It is so international that it’s often described as the United Nations of cycling. Athletes take on a challenging route to compete against each other, the clock, and themselves in a personal endurance challenge.
At Gran Premio New York City, professional teams race the same course as riders at the Michelob ULTRA GFNY World Championship NYC – but with a 10-minute head start. The second edition will be held on May 18, 2025 and aims to be at 1.1 level with World Tour teams racing.
2025 NYC Bike Expo
NYC Bike Expo returns for its 13th Annual Edition on May 16-17th, 2025. The road cycling show will attract more than 10,000 visitors who are avid road cyclists, endurance athletes and cycling fans. Exhibitors will showcase products such as bike components, bike brands, and cycling events. Past endemic exhibitors include BMC, Ekoï, Specialized, Pinarello, Campagnolo, ELITE, Limar, Cannondale, Pissei, Vittoria and many more.
NYC Bike Expo serves as mandatory in-person packet pick up for the riders competing at the Michelob ULTRA GFNY World Championship NYC and the pro cyclists competing at the Gran Premio New York City UCI pro race. The expo also attracts over thousands of non-GFNY participants and is open to the public and free admission.
The expo will again be held in Fort Lee, NJ, where it will be located directly at the centre of the GFNY and GPNYC Headquarters during race week. Visitors and exhibitors alike praise the easy access: the expo offers ample, affordable parking nearby and city tolls are avoided. Furthermore, it’s right at America’s most-travelled bike route on Hudson Terrace in Fort Lee, NJ. The expo will be integrated with race HQ activities and in close proximity to the start/finish point of the pre-race group rides.
Exhibitors have the option to exhibit 2 or 3 days. The pre-race expo lasts 2 days: Friday & Saturday, May 16-17. There is an additional, optional exhibition day on race day, Sunday, May 18.
