Gravel Royale Stage Race – August 22 – 25, 2025

TransRockies is thrilled to announce that registration is open for the highly anticipated 2025 Gravel Royale Stage Race, Canada’s premier gravel stage race. Set against the breath-taking backdrop of the Canadian Rockies, this year’s event will take place from August 22 to 25, 2025, promising an unforgettable experience for cyclists of all levels.

Gravel Royale will take riders on secluded gravel roads through the Canadian Rocky Mountains from Nipika Mountain Resort. The extensive network of well-maintained fire roads in the region guarantee great riding and racing conditions, the traditional home to the Ktunaxa Nation Indigenous people.

The TransRockies Gravel Royale is not just a race; it’s an adventure that spans three exhilarating days of competition over four days of camaraderie and exploration. Each stage is meticulously crafted to offer participants stunning views, challenging terrains, and the chance to encounter the region's diverse wildlife. Riders will tackle a new mountain pass every day, culminating in a thrilling finish that celebrates the spirit of gravel cycling.

“We are excited to welcome riders back to the Gravel Royale for its third edition,” said Aaron McConnell, President and Chief Cycling Officer at TransRockies. “This race is designed for adventure seekers who crave the thrill of competition while enjoying the incredible natural beauty of the Rockies. Whether you’re a seasoned racer or a casual cyclist, there’s something for everyone.”

Participants can choose between two race distances each day: the “Full Pint” covering 90-120 km (approximately 75 miles) and the “Half Pint” with a distance of 40-85 km (about 50 miles). Riders can compete for podium positions in either category or opt for a more leisurely ride, allowing them to enjoy the fully supported experience at their own pace.

In addition to the competitive racing, riders will kick off the event with a “Shake Out” ride led by one of the participating pro riders, providing a unique opportunity to warm up and connect with fellow competitors. After each day’s race, cyclists can unwind at the renowned Chillville camp, where TransRockies has perfected its hospitality over the past two decades. Riders can expect a relaxing atmosphere with all the amenities needed to recharge for the next day’s adventure.

“Chillville is more than just a campsite; it’s a community,” McConnell added. “We focus on creating a welcoming environment where riders can relax, share stories, and make lasting memories after an exhilarating day on the bike.”

Awards Ceremonies will take place in Chillville in the afternoon, so you can enjoy the festivities without feeling rushed with music, snacks and a nice campfire for riders to socialize and hang out.

In total, the full 3-day course (aka the Royal Flush) extends approx. 300km and climbs over 5,500m for the full pint course. The Half pint option serves up around 200km and 3,500m of climbing.

Registration for the Gravel Royale Stage Race is open and is expected to sell out in advance.
