The event not only showcased the grit and determination of cyclists but also set a new world record for the most participants in a gravel race.

In a thrilling showdown, former Euro pro road cyclist Ian Boswell of Wahoo Frontiers clinched victory in the grueling 100-mile race, which featured approximately 7,000 feet of climbing. Boswell crossed the finish line in a remarkable time of 5:01:26, narrowly edging out Kyle Kalish by a mere second. Nick Dehann, the 2023 Paris-Brest-Paris champion, rounded out the podium with an impressive finish of 5:01:42.

On the women’s side, Erin Omara of the Greater Flint Athletic Club continued her reign, securing her third consecutive Barry-Roubaix title with a time of 5:14:49. Following Omara were Eden Nykamp and Julie Toole, who finished in 5:43:23 and 5:23:08, respectively, showcasing the depth of talent among female competitors.

In the 62-mile race, David Brower of Bissell-ABG claimed the top spot with a time of 2:43:50. Lyllie Sonnemann of CXD Trek Bikes led the women’s field, finishing in 2:59:07, a testament to her endurance and skill on the challenging course.

The 36-mile race saw Matthew Light from Warsaw Cut Glass take the men’s title with a swift time of 1:37:10. Lauren Cummings of Team Clark Logic emerged victorious in the women’s category, clocking in at 1:48:18, further emphasizing the competitiveness of this year’s event.

“This year’s Barry-Roubaix was nothing short of spectacular,” said Race Director Mark Thompson. “The energy and camaraderie among the participants were palpable, and witnessing over 5,000 cyclists tackle the challenging terrain was a sight to behold. We are proud to have set a new record for participation and to celebrate the remarkable achievements of our winners.”

The Barry-Roubaix gravel race has become a staple in the cycling community, attracting both seasoned professionals and enthusiastic amateurs. The event not only highlights the physical endurance required for gravel racing but also fosters a sense of community among cyclists from across the nation.
