Mexican qualifier relocates to San Luis Potosi on the first weekend of July
The Mexican qualifier in the UCI Gran Fondo World Series that took place in Campeche last year will relocate to the city of San Luis Potosi in 2018
The event’s weekend will have a time trial on Saturday July 7th and a Granfondo on Sunday July 8th.
The time trial will be held within the Parque Tangamanga for two laps of 17.5 kilometer over a total distance of 34.8 kilometers. The total elevation is 300m over the two laps.
The Granfondo on Sunday will start and finish at Founders Plaza in downtown San Luis for a neutralized 15 km start and a 146.6 km course. A 2 km cobblestone section after 76 km gives the race a European touch, but the main difficulty of the day is a 11 km climb right after the cobblestones for an average gradient of 4% and parts up to 15%. Finish is back in the city and total elevation is 1243m. The entire route will be closed for traffic
San Luis Potosi is a big city 4 hours north of the capital city and a 7 hours’ drive from the US border. All information on the event can be found on http://ucisanluis.com
