Vercammen and d'Evola victorious at the UCI Schleck Gran Fondo
Jeroen Vercammen wins Gran Fondo and Fabian d'Evola wins Medio Fondo, as over 2,500 riders from 25 countries enjoyed beautiful Luxemberg!
Frank Schleck, one of the most famous Luxemburg professionals set up a Granfondo on his training roads after retiring. The Schleck Gran Fondo is a UCI Gran Fondo World Series qualifier on Fränk Schleck's training routes in Luxemburg an espescially in the beautiful Moselle region.
The Schleck Gran Fondo is a qualifier for the UCI Gran Fondo World Championships held in Varese, Italie.
The Gran Fondo featured 2,400m of climbing with a repetition of short and steep climbs, the 150km race tested the endurance of riders with an awe-inspiring course.
The 90km race provides a shorter challenge for all abilities and included 1,400,m of climbing.
After the race rider enjoyed a plethora of family activities, food and drink and live music concert.
Prior to the race participants enjoyed and a Pasta Party the night before.
Cycling legends Miguel Indurain and Jens "Shut Up Legs" Voigt both took part in the ride too.
Jeroen Vercammen completed the 150km Gran Fondo in a time of in 3h 56m 36s and Fabian d'Evola completed the Medio Fondo in a time of 2h 12m 37s.
