Cyclotour du Léman: it’s 1 lake, 2 Countries, 3 starts, 5 routes and over 3,000 participants

16 years after the first pedal stroke, the Cyclotour du Léman keeps going (in the big ring!)

Taking place on May 19, 2019, the Cyclotour du Léman is a popular bike tour around Leman Lake. It’s more interesting, it takes place around 1 lake (Leman Lake), crosses 2 countries (Switzerland and France), offers 3 starts (Lausanne, Geneva, Evian-les-Bains) and 4 distances (176, 110, 56 and 64km). Last year, over 3,096 participants trusted the organizers to deliver a fantastic experience.

The Cyclotour du Léman takes cyclists on a beautiful route around Lake Léman that winds through vineyards and apple orchards against a backdrop of a shimmering lake and towering mountains. It is amongst the most beautiful cycling events in the world. 

The full distance is also part of the 2019 Gran Fondo World Tour, where series ranking points will be on offer.

Since last September, the organisers have been working of the next edition, collaborating with the 76 crossed towns, the 3 districts in French speaking Switzerland (Vaud, Geneva and Valais) and the French territory of Haute-Savoie. Despite of the difficulties they have met (street works, events, reductions of car parks, etc), they are all working together to find innovative solutions.

2019 Goals

Cyclotour du Léman would like to make its bike tour accessible to anyone, of all ages and backgrounds. Last year, the tour opened to all, continuing to evolve for bigger public demand.

  Full tour : Lausanne-Lausanne 176 km.
  Full tour : Geneva-Geneva 176 km
  Évian-Lausanne 112 km.
  Geneva-Lausanne 55 km
  Lausanne-Evian-Les Bains 64 km
