2019 UCI Gran Fondo World Championships Results
Coverage from the 2019 UCI Gran Fondo Championships from Poznan, Poland
The event took place from August 29th to September 1st with a time trial on Thursday, a team-relay on Friday and the Gran Fondo races on Sunday.
For age groups 19-59 raced on a 151 km flat Gran Fondo course and 60+ age groups raced a 108 km Medio Fondo on Sunday. The Individual Time Trial took place on Thursday, 432 riders took to the start ramp for the 18.3km course.
Gran Fondo - Sunday September 1, 2019
In the Gran Fondo, the fastest rider was Belgian Maxim Priard who finished first in a lead group of 5 riders ahead of Swiss rider Martin Lind and Japanese rider Genta Koono.
For the women, it was polish Time Trial winner Ewa Bankowska who won the Gran Fondo, beating Nadine Gill and Emelie Rochedy on the line.
Medio Fondo - Sunday September 1, 2019
In the Medio Fondo, Russian Vladimir Kuznetsov soloed to the finish ahead of American Glenn Schneider and German Uwe Varenkamp.
For the women, Swiss rider Janni Bormann beat previous world champion French lady Jeannie Longo and Finnish rider Elin Gronik.

Individual Time Trial – Thursday 29 August, 2019
American Brock Mason was the fastest in a time of 23:08 and won the mens 19-34 age category.
Local polish rider Ewa Bankowska was fastest women in a time of 25:44 and won the womens 35-39 age category.
