Perry and Coy de Vega set new course records at Rollfast Gran Fondo World ® Championship 

The Gran Fondo World  ® Championship, part of the Gran Fondo World Tour ®, held on Sunday 15 September, part of the Rollfast Gran Fondo, in Carmel, Hamilton County, Indiana USA raced to new Event Records for both the male and female categories.

First male rider and 2019 Gran Fondo World ® Champion, Muncie Indiana resident Kyle Perry finished in 3:42.55.  Kyle, an architect who races for the Texas Roadhouse Cycling Team is an active racer in the Midwest and today was the strongest of a strong group, finishing alone just ahead of Sergio Ascenco who finished 3:42.57

The female winner of the Rollfast Gran Fondo and new Gran Fondo World ® Champion is Arielle Coy de Vega, finishing in 3:47.42, another new Event Record.

Arielle of Indianapolis is an amateur racer on the Women’s Racing Project, which states it is “A women's cycling team based out of the mid-west. Our goal is to have equal racing opportunities available for women.”  This matches perfectly the mission of Gran Fondo World Tour, which is committed to always providing equal prize money to Men and Women at all events.

The 2019 Rollfast Gran Fondo’s 100 Mile course set another new event record as 86 cyclists joined the Sub4 our finishers club and will be awarded a special Sub4 Belt Buckle.

The Male and Female Winners were crowned Gran Fondo World ® Champions, each winning a $1,500 Prize and a pair of Zipp 404 Wheels.

The new event location, Coxhall Gardens provided a fabulous base for the event with a police escort on closed roads to the outskirts of Carmel, it also hosted the Start, the Rollfast Family Festival, the Kids Fundo event and the Podium Presentations.
