Peter Sagan will start 2020 Spring Classics campaign at Omloop Het Nieuwsblad
Sagan is looking to add the opening Classic to his palmares after finishing second twice on February 29, 2020
Peter Sagan will start the 2020 season at the Vuelta a San Juan in Argentina, instead of at the Tour Down Under, before returning to Europe for the Spring Classics.
The Spring Classics season opener, the Omloop Het Nieuwsblad on February 29th in Belgium will kick-start Sagan Classics season.
The Bora-Hansgrohe rider will open his 2020 account at the Vuelta a San Juan in Argentina, instead of at the Tour Down Under as he has for the three previous seasons, before returning to Europe for the Belgian race on February 29th. Sagan has previously placed second to Greg Van Avermaet in 2016 and 2017.
Sagan should lineup st Kuurne-Brussels-Kuurne, which he won in 2017 and Dwars door Vlaanderen, which he has never won.
Having already won two of the big three Monuments, Tour of Flanders and Paris-Roubaix, surely Sagan will target Milan – San Remo again.
After the Classics season, Sagan will ride the Giro d’Italia for the first time before riding the Tour de France, where he will look to to win his eight green jersey.
