500 riders finish the 2021 UCI Gran Fondo Australia
Over 100 riders qualify for 2021 UCI Gran Fondo World Championship this September in Bosnia-Herzegovina
The first race of the 2021 UCI Gran Fondo World Series took place on Saturday 6 February in Ballarat, Australia.
The field was limited to 500 riders due to Coronavirus. The tackled a local lap of 11.6km. All riders had to cover 5 laps for a total of 58km and 950m of elevation.
To qualify, riders had to finish in the top 20% of their age category.

122 riders also signed up for the time trial of 23.6km over three laps on the Friday, which also counted for the Australian national championship. Many former World Champions took to the start.
