UCI Gravel La Monsterrato in Piemonte Italy updates its courses
The Italian qualifier event in Quattordio, Italy which takes place on September 3rd has its courses and reduced the distances of both the long course and short course
The start and finish remain the same as the previous courses, but the north section of the course which consisted a lot of paved road has been removed so that the distances are now 117km for the long course and 57km for the short course.
The long course is the official qualifier distance for all men under 60 and women under 50, the short course counts as qualifier for the older age groups.
La Monsterrato is a cyclotourist ride that will be upgraded to a gravel competition and become the first UCI Gravel event in Italy in the UCI Gravel World Series. The race is held in the famous Italian Monferrato wine region with many “strade bianche” which are so typical for the area.
The course starts and finishes in Quattordio, a small town in the Monferrato wine region in Piemonte, full of “Strade Bianche” on undulating rural roads.
