Register Now for the Canyon Gravel Girona Ride Tour

This year the longest Canyon Girona Gravel Ride race will be part of the Gran Fondo World Tour® Gravel Series this September 23-24, 2023

The gravel ride is part of the Sea Otter Europe Costa Brava Girona by Continental festival taking place September 22 – 24th 2023. Its Europe’s leading festival specializing in sustainability and urban mobility. The outdoor cycling festival runs for three days.

The two gravel routes will help you discover Las Gavarres, a rounded massif with forest tracks in good condition, which is perfect for off-road cycling.

The routes will be followed using GPS downloads, there will not be any signs along the way, allowing you to experience the gravel adventure in complete freedom. Riders will leave Girona bordering the northern part of Las Gavarres, following the gravel roads that run parallel to the Ter River lined by poplar trees.

At the village of Monells riders will enter an Area of Natural Interest (EIN) via a steep climb surrounded by cork oak and holm oak trees.

The routes move completely away from vehicle traffic and built-up areas, so you can feel the silence of the most remote corners of the massif. It routes will pass through the western part of Las Gavarres, passing close to the Àngels sanctuary and Sant Miquel castle, before entering Girona via the Sant Daniel valley, along the Galligants river.

125km Gran Fondo

The 125km Gran Fondo takes place on Saturday September 23rd, starting at 09:15 am and finishing at Avenue Josep Tarradelles at Sea Otter Europe.

The route contains 1,500m of climbing up to a maximum 515m above sea level. The route is 69% gravel and 31% asphalt which is mostly at the beginning end of the ride near Girona.

125km Gran Fondo

125km Gran Fondo Profile

The 125 km Gran Fondo route of the Canyon Gravel Girona Ride Tour is part of the 2023 Gran Fondo World Tour® GRAVEL Series, a ranking with races spread across 5 continents throughout the year, with Pro Cycling Stats ranking amateur gravel riders in partnership with Gran Fondo World Tour ® Series, providing an amateur ranking for gravel riding lovers.

This ranking will be linked to the Gran Fondo World Tour ROAD series ranking, which covers a full calendar of events around the world where riders can pick up points too.

79km Medio Fondo

The 79 km Medio Fondo takes place on Sunday September 24th, starting at 09:15 am at Avenue Josep Tarradelles at Sea Otter Europe and finishing at Parc de la Devesa, Girona

The route contains 940m of climbing up to a maximum 408m above sea level. The route is 57% gravel and 43% asphalt which is mostly at the beginning end of the ride near Girona.

The 125km Gran Fondo is 70 Euros and the 79km Medio Fondo is just 52 Euros.
