Johnston and Barrow fastest at UCI Seven Gravel Fondo in Western Australia
The third edition of the Seven gravel race in Nannup, Western Australia as UCI qualifier keeps on growing with than 1500 riders registering for the event

The 125km “Seven” course remained the same as last year with a stunning but very challenging course in the Australian outback. Total elevation was 3,200m with steep climbs varying from 1 to 4.5km. A shorter 85km “Five” course made a shortcut at the back of the course and counted as qualifier distance for the men over 65 and women over 50.
Australian MTB National Champion, Brendan Johnston was fastest at the "Seven" race, atccking to solo to the finish in a time of 4h 5m 11s ahead of Mark Chong (4h 6m 22a) in second and Brendon Davids (4h 8m 32s in third place.
Australian National Gravel Champion Justine Barrow, won the women’s "Seven" race in 4h 44m 30s, ahead of Cassio Boglio in second (4h 50m 47s) and Annabel Fisher in thoird place (4h 52m 42s)
Finlay McRobbie won the "five" race in a time of 2h 48m and Meredith Clark won the women's "five race" in a time of 3h 40m 16s.
Riders finishing in the top 25% of their age/gender category automatically qualify for the 2024 UCI Gravel World Championships taking place in Belgium later this year.
Nannup will also host the UCI Gravel World Championships in 2026. This year these World Championships are scheduled to take place early October in Belgium, next year they will be in Nice (France).
