Wrye-Simpson and Ritzow fastest at the Oregon Gran Fondo
Due to unforeseen circumstances, the Gran Fondo route was shortened to 92 miles, but that didn't stop nearly 400 riders having a fabulous day in the forests and hills around Cottage Grove
23 year-old Max Ritzow (Expeditors) was fastest around the 92 miles course with over 5,800 feet of climbing in a time of 3h 42m 31s ahead of Jade Rohde (Team Landshark) in second 40s behind and Austen Davis (Adventure Squad) in thrd place 1m 18s behind in third place.
In the women's category, Brenna Wrye-Simpson (Team S&M) out-sprinted breakaway companion of Kylee Hanel (Dialed Cycling Team) in a time of 4h 2m 48s, with Cari St. Aubin (Team 10 Barrel) in third place 25 minutes behind.
In the Medio Fondo, Greg Steele (2POA Racing ) was fastest in a time of 2h 58m 21s ahead of 2 Andrzej Stadnik (Biciclista US) Dustin Fortado (Flywheel Bicycle Solutions) in third place.
In the women's Medio Fondo, Sara Bird (Women -- Valkyr Cycling) was fastest in a time of 3h 17m 48s, ahead of Emily Adams in second and Megan Tuncer (Team Oregon) in third place.
In the Adventure distance, Ryan Taylor (Flywheel Bicycle Solutions ) was fastest in a time of 3h 5m 27s, ahead of Jack Billowitz (Donovan Racing Development) and Daniel Handorff (The Bonk Collective) in third place.
In the women's Adventure distance, Kristi Cutter was fastest in a time of 3h 33m 12s ahead of Erin Reis (Hutch’s / Bend Dental ) in secomnd and Jennifer Hart (Moe’s Bike Shop) in third place.
