Reviglio and Alleman fastest at 4th Annual GFNY La Vaujany – L’Alpe d’Huez
Climbers had a feast at the fourth GFNY La Vaujany – L’Alpe d’Huez: 151km with 3,914m of climbing, including the famous 21 switchbacks of L’Alpe d’Huez
GFNY La Vaujany is hosted in the picturesque French Alps village of Vaujany, enjoying scenic cycling on the most famous climbs in the world. Vaujany offers accommodation options at all budget levels, restaurants, and outdoor and family activities, making it such a popular ride in the GFNY calendar. Vaujany extended another warm welcome to GFNY riders!
And it was yet again, four time GFNY champion Belgian Tim Alleman (Grinta! Granfondo team) who put his stamp on the mountainous race.
After winning last year, he attacked the final climb back up to Vaujany together with Frenchman Loïc Ruffeaut (Ruffaut Cycling System) and compatriot Stefan Van Aelst. At the finish, he took the win in 4:43:04, thirty seconds ahead of Ruffeaut. The Frenchman improved from his fourth place last year but had to accept being the runner-up for the fourth time at a GFNY.
In the women's race, after a third place at GFNY Villard-de-Lans 2023, Frenchwomen Laurence Reviglio took the win in Vaujany in a time of 6:05:21 ahead of compatriots Gladys Piticco and Sylvie Riedle.
