Ride along the warm Aegean Sea at the Veloturk Gran Fondo this November
Çesme, Turkey, will host the 8th edition of the Veloturk Gran Fondo this November 2nd - 3rd 2024.
Wth magnificent beaches, festivals and delicious Aegean Cuisine. Çesme, which is located at the western most point of Turkey, and has become one of the most popular holiday destinations in the world.
The hot thermal waters bubbling through the sea turn the Ilica beach and other beaches in the region into large thermal pools. The average temperature in the region in November is warm 16C (61F).
The event is provided by Argeus Travel & Events, experienced specialists in the field of tourism and hosting sporting events for more than 20 years.
There is the Toyota Hybrid 63 km Medio Fondo and the Salcano 111 km Gran Fondo to suit all abilities of cyclists from 16 to 65 years old.
The courses start in front of Çesme Castle and circumnavigate the Çesme Peninsula offering amazing views of the Aegean Sea and continues through popular tourist area of Alaçati.
Medio Fondo
The 62km Medio Fondo contains 856 metres of climbing with one aid station.
Gran Fondo
The Granfondo of 111km with 1,489m of climbing heads into the hills towards the village of Balikliova ("valley full of fish") with three aid stations along the stunning quiet roads of the Çesme Peninsula.
You can reach Çesme through Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport (ADB) from Istanbul Ataturk (IST), Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen (SAW) and Ankara Esenboga (ESB) airports. Çesme is 7 hours’ drive from Ankara and 7 hours from Istanbul.
Çesme is a popular tourist destination, and has a wide variety of accommodation options suitable for every budget.
The event is the final round of the 2024 Gran Fondo World Tour ® Series. A ranking with races spread across 5 continents throughout the year, with Pro Cycling Stats ranking amateur gravel riders in partnership with Gran Fondo World Tour ® Series, providing an amateur ranking for gravel riding lovers. This ranking will be linked to the Gran Fondo World Tour ROAD series ranking, which covers a full calendar of events around the world where riders can pick up points.

There are a wide range of race categories for both men and women from ages 16 up to 65+ years old for youths, elites and masters.
