The 3rd Annual Belgian Waffle Ride Arizona Welcomes Cyclists to the “Hell of the North Desert”
The Belgian Waffle Ride (BWR) returns to the rugged beauty of the Sonoran Desert for its 3rd Annual Arizona event, kicking off the Quad-Tripel Crown of Gravel Series in 2025. Renowned for its mix of grit, irreverence, and adventure, the BWR AZ promises a unique cycling experience worthy of its nickname: “Hell of the North Desert.”
Building on the success of the 2024 event where Keegan Swenson and Sofia Gomez Villafañe emerged victorious, the 2025 edition will host just 1,500 riders, offering an unforgettable journey through desert and mountain landscapes, technical Unroads, and the welcoming cycling community of Cave Creek.

The Waffle course is a 122-mile masterpiece with over 7,500 feet of climbing and a final series of 20% grade climbs sure to test every rider.

Race Features
- Three Course Options: Riders can choose between the grueling Waffle (103 miles), the more moderate Wafer (68.3 miles), or the beginner-friendly Wanna (33.4 miles).
- Feed Zones: Six well-stocked stations on the Waffle course ensure riders stay hydrated and fueled.
- Prize Purse & Awards: A generous prize purse awaits elite men and women, with age-group awards for the Waffle and Wafer courses.

The BWR AZ weekend also includes the Wafer race and the exciting Cactus Cup XC 40-mile race the following Saturday at McDowell Mountain Park.
