BWR expands with Roadie-Oh Gran Fondo at Del Mar Festival
The Belgian Waffle Ride "Roadie-Oh" Gran Fondo, part of the iconic 3-day Belgian Waffle Ride Festival. It offers road cyclists an unforgettable Gran Fondo experience in the heart of San Diego on Saturday, April 26, 2025.
The BWR CA's move to Del Mar brings a fresh dynamic to the legendary ride, offering stunning coastal views, expansive festival grounds, and a vibrant, community-driven atmosphere. The festival will embrace the essence of San Diego’s cycling culture, featuring fresh new road rides through coastal canyons, Rancho Santa Fe’s picturesque landscapes, Lake Hodges, the Del Dios Gorge, and beyond.
The "Roadie-Oh" Gran Fondo is held alongside the festival’s legendary gravel race, Belgian Waffle Ride – California held the day after on the Sunday.
The pure road-ride brings a unique blend of challenge, scenery, and camaraderie to participants of all abilities with three different distances which feature rolling hills and beautiful vistas.
- 100 miles (Century): A timed and competitive route with stunning coastal canyon views, ideal for riders looking to push their limits. Long distance has approximately 6,000 feet of climbing.
- 100 km (Metric Century): A slightly shorter yet equally picturesque challenge. Medium distance has approximately 3,500 feet of climbing
- 50 km (31 miles): A more relaxed, scenic ride perfect for those new to Gran Fondos or looking for a lighter day on the bike. Short distance has approximately 1,500 feet of climbing
Timed Segments
For the more competitive riders, each course will have 3 timed segments and the fastest combined times win for both men and women.
