Last Grizzly Gravel Stage Race: 3-Days Ride and Race in Utah this September
Breakaway Promotions, the team behind the USA’s Premier Gravel Stage Race, the Oregon Trail, is thrilled to announce the launch of Last Grizzly Gravel p/b ENVE Composites, a three-day all-inclusive gravel bike ride and race, taking place this September 19 - 21, 2025.
This exhilarating event will traverse the breath-taking landscapes of Utah and Idaho, providing participants with an unforgettable cycling experience in the heart of nature.
The Last Grizzly Gravel will cover an impressive 270 miles, featuring a challenging elevation gain of 20,000 feet, as riders navigate the stunning terrain of the Bear Mountain Range within the Wasatch-Cache National Forest. Participants will be treated to panoramic views and the chance to experience the natural beauty of both states, making this event a must for gravel cycling enthusiasts.
Inspired by the legendary tale of Old Ephraim, the last grizzly bear in Utah, the event pays homage to the majestic wildlife that once roamed the Cache National Forest. Old Ephraim, a notorious twelve-year-old grizzly, became a symbol of the untamed spirit of the region and serves as the perfect namesake for this unique cycling challenge.

With a strict limit of just 300 riders, Last Grizzly Gravel promises an intimate and immersive experience for participants. Cyclists of all skill levels are encouraged to register early to secure their spot in this unique event.
In addition to the race, participants will have the opportunity to connect with fellow cycling enthusiasts, share stories, and create lasting memories in a supportive and engaging environment.
The event will also feature various activities and amenities designed to enhance the overall experience, including Delicious Catered Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinners, Fully Stocked Aid Stations, Well Marked Courses, Post-Ride Libation Station, On-Course and In-Camp Mechanic, Gear Transportation and most of all Nightly Campsite Festivities and Awards!
What makes the partnership with ENVE Composites even better is they are located in Ogden, Utah the start and finish for this three-day point-to-point stage race.
The ride is chipped timed so for those who want to race there are Award Categories for Juniors, Open Men, Open Women, Masters Men 45-59, 60+, Masters Women 45-59, 60+ and awards go to the top three for each day. Podium will be for top three from each category back in camp!
