Distances: 309 miles
Difficulty: Difficult terrain with longer, steeper hills
Limited to: 30 Participants

One sunrise, two oceans, 3 stages, 300miles and one sunset. This is The Crossing.

The crossing will start at sunrise in the Gulf of Mexico, and we will run through three 100mi timed stages across the south of Mexico in the states of Tabasco and Chiapas.

The route will run by remote areas of the most southern states of the country, where the Maya civilization rise. We will go across villages that still carry ancient maya customs up until now.

The weather on July in Chiapas es hot, humid and it could rain at the end of the day. We will reach up to 3000ft in the highest peaks of the route.

We will finish at the Pacific Ocean at sunset with our celebration party.

The entry fee includes everything you might need during the event (except spare parts if needed, but we will carry some and can be replaced with some charge). Transportation from Mexico City to Paraiso, Tabasco (race start) will be on vans, hotel accommodations in Paraiso and Puerto Arista (finish line) are all included.

After each stage we will camp at Natural Reserves, campsite will be up and ready when we arrive and it is also included on the entry fee with all meals and food and water support during each stage.

The crossing is limited in this first year to only 30 participants. We encourage cycling enthusiasts who are fit and can stand over 100mi stages with over 15,000ft of vertical climbs accumulated on all three stages. This event is for cyclists who ride at least over 800mi a month/9,600mi a year/15hr a week aprox.

It will be a hard journey, it will not be easy, but something that will remain on your memory for the rest of your life.

At Bikeinmexico we are trying to bring cycling to remote communities of Mexico, our goal is to promote the uses of bicycle not only as a transportation device but also as a sport and as a eco-friendly activity. Our campsites are mounted by locals, all our meals are served by them and produced with local products.

Also part of our revenues go to an ONG dedicated to preserve Bee´s mainly in the state of Morelos. This organizations is MELIFERA.
