Get ready for an adventure with Portsmouth Connex’s 5th Annual Wild Ride! Starting at Shawnee State Park, riders will roll through the rugged Shawnee State Forest, Ohio’s largest and hilliest terrain. This event features 5 paved routes and 2 gravel fully-supported routes. Registration fee includes an edible critter medal and a commemorative pub glass and t-shirt. Riders will have access to professional photos a week after the event.

While the Wild Ride is not a race, those seeking a competitive edge can participate in 3 timed segments—The Storm, the Rattlesnake, and the Tick—with prizes for the top riders. To be eligible, participants must have a Strava account, a connected ride, and must complete the entire course as prescribed. Note: e-bikes are not eligible for the segment challenges.

All riders will begin and end at the same location. Come pick up your packet on Friday anytime between 5-7 pm at the Shawnee Ranger Office located within 400 yards of the start line. Meet Connex friends, discuss the routes, and shop our swag.

Participants may begin the routes as early as daylight. There will be an optional group start. The group start time will be announced in pre-ride email the day before event. Aid stations will be open til at least 3pm and finish line arch and festivities will be staffed until at least 5pm.

Registration Fees

Participant fees are $45 for all routes until June 6th. After June 6th, fees increase to $50 per rider. Packet pick-up and same-day registration price is $60 per rider.

Registration fee includes an edible critter medal and a commemorative pub glass and t-shirt. Riders will have access to professional photos a week after the event. Participants can pre-order a commemorative jersey with registration before May 19th.

Packet Pickups

Packet pick-up at the start location from 5-7pm the evening before event. Packet pick-up will also be available beginning at 6:30am on the day of the adventure.

Prize / Race Categories

There are 5 paved routes and 2 gravel routes to choose from. There are 3 competitve strava segments. One on the 60 mile paved route (Rattlesnake) , one on the 100 mile paved route (Tick), and one on the 60 mile gravel route (Storm). Awards for top competitor in men's and women's divisions. E-bikes are not permitted to participate in the competitive challenge segments but are welcomed for the event.
