Distances: 50, 74 miles
Difficulty: Moderate terrain with rolling short steep hills or moderate, sustained climbs
Limited to: 75 Participants

The routes are mostly gravel/dirt roads, some chip-sealed sections and a little bit of “mountain bike” stuff. Plenty of rocks along the way. I ride 42mm tires most of the time. I would say 40mm is the MINIMUM. You know your style of riding best. Gears are another thing, as you see by the description, there is a lot of climbing on both routes. It is nice to have that 46 or larger cog for that last climb.

LONG COURSE-~75 miles with 10k of good climbing. Route starts with a smooth paved climb, turning to rolling dirt roads through the back country. More rolling roads, then left onto a short, paved sector, then more back country rolling. Dump out onto a paved descent. Fly down to the highway, 5 miles of road, then the BIG climb. 13+ miles and 3000' of climbing to Highpoint Lookout. Worth the effort for the views. Halfway TT, left turn and more downhill to the highway. Left again for the last 2 miles.

SHORT COURSE-~45 miles with 6k' of good climbing. Short route follows long until shorty's make a right and climb on pavement for a couple miles, then continue on rocky road climb with a short descent to pavement and then fly downhill to finish.

This ride will be no joke and is sure to test the mettle of any gravel, mountain biker or roadie! With big vistas and great roads, it’s sure to put a smile or grimace on everybody’s face. Come join us.

For local folks there will be some pre-rides that showcase sections of the course and other great stuff in the area.
