Superbloom is coming back for round two! When we first hosted this race last year we thought it might be a one-and-done type of event. However, we didn't anticipate the impact it would have on our racers and volunteers. It's at their urging that we decided to keep it going, and we are oh so thrilled!

Events like this are needed. Time and time again many of us have shown up to our local race start lines only to find a handful of women present. Superbloom was created to turn that around by providing a welcoming environment for ALL women, and we did just that in 2024 and will keep that momentum going!

If you have raced in the Loess Hills region, you already know that the beauty of these roads is accompanied by some challenging terrain. Throughout this process we've been told this race would be too difficult to for a women's race, and that we should make it easier. We thought that was nonsense, and frankly that galvanized us more because we KNEW that wasn't true. All of the smiling faces crossing the finish line was all the proof we needed, so we're sticking to the same beautiful and challenging roads we rode last year.

True, this mostly occurs in the deserts of California and Arizona, and we aren’t in the desert. But here in the midwest we have a superbloom in our own backyard. Maybe it's the many wildflowers found in our prairies, or maybe it's the incredible women that will gather once again for a tailor-made event created just for them.

The name is also a nod to Prairie Bloom Cycling Club (PBCC), the organization founded by the Superbloom race director.
