Velo29 are delighted to be working with the MFC Foundation to bring this awesome Sportive!

The Captain Cook MFC Challenge is not just a Sportive though, in and around the Riverside Stadium an entire day of great fun cycle related activities will be taking place. From the free to ride ‘Riverside Ride’, a 2km route for any ability to come along and have fun to the likes of BMX pump track, displays and family fun!

As always we’ve got 3 Sportive routes for you, an exciting addition to this event is that we start and finish pitch side in The Riverside Stadium. We’ll be handing the medals out from where Micheal Carrick sits!

The start to all 3 routes is quite urban, we ride past the Old Town Clock (a listed building), head past the World Famous Transporter Bridge and then join the River Tees Cycle Path to Stockton where we join the highways and head out into Yorkshire.

A unique blend of Urban start/ finish with plenty of glorious Yorkshire thrown in. The short route really isn’t too hilly, some lumps along the way but no mountains! The medium does enjoy some ups and downs in the loop between Kildale Feed Stop 1 and 2. The long as always takes in some of Yorkshire’s toughest climbs, all worth it though for the stunning scenery and awesome descents on the other side!

£5 from all of your entry fees goes to the MFC Foundation, you can read about their important work in the community more HERE.
