The 3rd edition of the Serra D'Ossa Granfondo will take place on October 5, 2025, as a result of the partnership between Cabreira Solutions and the Municipality of Borba, with the support of the surrounding municipalities of Borba, Redondo, Alandroal and Estremoz, and will bring about fifteen hundred participants, who will simultaneously feel the difficulties and the beauty of the terrain, with particular emphasis on passing through the beautiful Serra d'Ossa, which will be even more beautiful with the color provided by the cyclists and the entire charismatic caravan of this type of mass events.

With a peloton with cyclists from various nationalities that will embody an extensive peloton, which will stretch along the beautiful roads of this region, already used to cycling events, but, in this case, in large numbers and with athletes endowed with gaits for all tastes and accustomed to the moments of leisure and tourism provided by this type of events held around the world.

The distances outlined for this cycle tourism event are intended to cover different types of practitioners, aged between 16 and 80 years old, with prizes in the various categories. Within the usual concept, cyclists have the option of choosing the minifondo distances with about 70 kms and mediofondo with about 100 kms. The most daring enjoy the longest distance, the granfondo, with 130 kms.

Athletes traveling to Central Alentejo will have at their disposal excellent conditions of conventional and typical accommodation, the famous Alentejo gastronomy and oenology and the magnificent tranquility of the region, which will be associated with the event, in addition to the rich historical and cultural heritage. The passages through the municipalities of the region will also be marked by the usual hospitality of the local people, accustomed to acclaiming professional cyclists, both in the Volta ao Alentejo and in the Volta a Portugal, this time, they will have to do it for hours, given the size of the peloton and, above all, for the great interaction with the participants, a hallmark of these organizations.

In what will be the third edition, participants will have the opportunity to get to know a new region and, of course, new routes. The starting and finishing point will be in the city of Borba, where the entire paddock and logistics center of the event will be installed. Borba is a place recognized worldwide for the generous production of wine, cheeses and sausages and which played a fundamental role in defining the national territory, as a bastion of D. Afonso II, in the conquest of the Arabs, in 1217. It was from that date that the same king started this village, which already has more than eight hundred years of history. The 4 municipalities of passage, Redondo, Alandroal, Estremoz and Vila Viçosa, also have numerous cultural reasons to visit.

In this type of events, the emphasis given to cultural enrichment is part of the program, along with the development of a healthy lifestyle and respect for the environment, complying with a sustainability plan, materialized by the "Positive Footprint" seal instilled by Cabreira Solutions to the participants, who are even awarded for exemplary practices of respect for the environment and others.

This impetus will have an even greater dimension, because the participants and the host town deserve the total involvement and care so that everyone is enchanted by this rich natural and landscape heritage and by the art of hospitality cultivated by the hosts, who, for a long time, wanted a granfondo in the region, for the tourist dynamism it adds and for the spectacularity of the surroundings, but, above all, for the taste and culture of the bicycle that spreads there.
