Apple Century Ride

June 06 2020
Wenatchee, Washington, USA

On Saturday, June 4, 2016 participants in this year’s bike ride will depart and return to Walla Walla Point Park located along Wenatchee's Apple Capital Loop Trail. The route leaves the Columbia River then follows the Wenatchee River as it winds through the orchards and vineyards of Monitor, Cashmere, Dryden and Peshastin. At the Bavarian Village of Leavenworth, the route continues onward to Plain and Lake Wenatchee.

Our 25-mile route turns at Cashmere, the 50-mile riders turn around at Leavenworth, and the Century riders make their turn at Lake Wenatchee. Convenient water stops located along the route and Rotarian sag-wagons will support your trek. The mapped ride is well-marked with signs and Route Arrows. Rotarians have driven and ridden the entire route, however, all riders must accept full reponsibility for their own safety ... we simply cannot anticipate every hazard.

The 25-mile route is a relatively easy with a couple of grades but no big climbs. The 50-mile route has a few rollers, some areas with grade, and two challenging pulls on the inbound route. The 100-mile riders should be prepared to ride some rollers, a few pitches, a continual grade outbound from Leavenworth and one big, but short, pitch up and down near Plain. The weather can be warm and very likley dry; we've had riders underestimate the calories burned and the need for proper hydration ... please monitor your physical condition before, during and after the ride.

Upon returning to Walla Walla Point Park in Wenatchee, participants will be treated to an 'post-ride' meal.  We anticipate lunch being served from around 12:30 until approximately 5:00PM.  Non-alcoholic beverages will be available.  For those participants 21 years and older a beer garden will be available offering a variety of alcoholic beverages for purchase.

Please remember our distances are approximate. And as always, follow all traffic laws!

We hope to see you in June!
